Pamela began her journey to midwifery like most women – after a tumultuous and difficult hospital birth of her daughter back in 1994. In 1996 she began midwifery school at Birthingway College of Midwifery in Portland and began her own homebirth midwifery practice in 2000.

After ten years in private practice and being primary midwife to over 300 babies, Pamela began work with Bella Vie as their office manager in January 2010, handling all insurance billing and office operations. With her experience as a midwife for many years, Pamela offers a unique perspective to the business side of serving the clients at Bella Vie.

Pamela recently made the decision to retire from her homebirth practice and focus on the growing needs of Bella Vie's clients and staff full-time. She loves being a part of Bella Vie's loving, gentle atmosphere and views her role at the birth center as an extension of the passionate, warm care she gave to Salem-area families for a decade through her own practice.

When not at Bella Vie, Pamela enjoys teaching at midwifery conferences, writing, knitting, embroidery, reading and connecting area families with resources. She lives in Salem with her wonderful partner, Andrew, and their three children.
